
VEDA R. DAVIS
Mrs. Veda R. Davis, 92, of Sunset Home, formerly of 101 North 4th, died at 7:55 a.m. Wednesday (April 6, 2005)
in Sunset Home.
Born August 17, 1912 in Nebo, Illinos, Veda was the daughter of Isaac and Lena Dreon Chaplin. She married Herbert W. Davis in 1949 in St. Charles, Missouri. He died in 1984.
Veda was the manager of the Beardstown Woolworth for many years. She later moved to Quincy and worked at Brown Drug Store until her retirement.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Jack C. Davis; three brothers, Estel Paul Chaplin, Basil Chaplin and Earl Chaplin; and two sisters, Edna Kehr and Eva Sibbing.
Graveside services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:00 in Quincy Memorial Park
There will be no visitation, but friends are invited to the services. The Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
