VIRGIL W. BECKMAN

Mr. Virgil W. Beckman, 86, of Quincy, died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday (March 30, 2006) in Blessing Hospital.

Born January 22, 1920 in Quincy, Virgil was the son of William and Flora Boehl Beckman. He married Mildred Altrogge on November 12, 1938 . She died May 9, 2005.

Mr. Beckman was a member of Union United Methodist Church. He was an avid duck hunter and enjoyed bowling and was a die hard Cub fan.

Mr. Beckman was employed for 48 years at Moorman Manufacturing Company, retiring as Corporate Vice President of Manufacturing on January 22, 1985.

Survivors include a daughter, Janet Sullivan of Rockford, IL.; a son, Richard Beckman and his wife Linda of Nashville, IN.; five grandchildren, Patrick Sullivan and his wife Paula and their children, Tes and Bailey of Rockford, IL., Todd Sullivan and his wife Amy and their children, Michael and Leah of Chesapeake, VA., Debra Gray and her husband Michael and their children, Turner and Ryne of Washington, D. C., Douglas Beckman and his wife Leisha and their daughter, Sydney of Mansfield, IL., and Michelle Tusinski and her husband George and their son, Dylan of Longmont, CO.; two sisters, Marjorie Killen of Springfield, IL. and Norma Holmes of Minneapolis, MN.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Beckman was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert Morwell. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Tuesday until the time of services at the funeral home.
