
VIRGINIA ELLERY
Virginia Ellery, 88, of the North Adams Home, formerly of Quincy, died at 3:00 a.m. Tuesday (July 3, 2007) in the home.
Born October 22, 1918 in Quincy, Virginia was the daughter of Arthur and Bertha Reeder Oenning. She married Robert R. Ellery on November 11, 1934 in LaGrange, Missouri. He preceded her in death on October 30, 2002.
Virginia and her husband built and operated the Drive In Theater in West Quincy and the Gem City Drive In at 36th & Maine for many years and then operated Quincy Auto Salvage until their retirement. Virginia also was employed as a teller with Mercantile Bank.
Virginia enjoyed fishing and gardening, but her greatest joy came in the time she spent with her family.
Survivors include a son, Robert L. Ellery and his companion Wilma Reed of Quincy; a grandson, Greg Ellery of Quincy; two sisters, Hazel Brown of St. Patrick, MO. and Mary Hoaglin and her husband John of Columbus, IL.; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Ellery was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; a grandson, John Douglas Ellery; a sister, Violet Gates; and three brothers, Dale Oenning, Wilbur Oenning and Larry Oenning.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. Wally Carlson. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Friday afternoon from 1:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.
