WENDELL "BUCK" FRIDAY SR.
Wendell K. "Buck" Friday Sr., 66, of 614 College died at 8:35 a.m. (October 11, 2009) in Blessing Hospital.
Born June 23, 1943 in Clayton, Illinois, Mr. Friday was the son of Herschel and Maude Davis Friday. He was married to Beverly Vaughn and Peggy Meyer and remained close to both.
Buck enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially squirrel hunting. A hard worker, Buck always put his family first and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandson.
Buck was employed as a machinist at Knapheide Manufacturing for 34 years, retiring in 2000.
Survivors include a daughter, Beth Meyer of Quincy; seven sons, Robert Friday, Wendell "Bucky" Friday Jr. and his wife Sarah, Wesley "Wes" Friday and his wife Heather, John Friday, Greg Friday and Steve Bowman and his wife Lisa all of Quincy and William "Will" Friday of Mt. Sterling, IL; eleven grandchildren, Shaun, Anthony, Brandy, Henry "Buddy", Mike, Lacey, Will, Autumn, Wesley, Zach and Haley; a great grandson, Cortez; three brothers, Terry "Pete" Friday and Greg Friday both of Quincy and Gaylord "Wayne" Friday and his wife Pat of Liberty, IL; three sisters, Shirley Miller and Nancy Shoop both of Quincy and Elsie Jones and her husband Rick of Ursa, IL; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mr. Friday was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Wendy Friday; two sisters, Louella Boernson and Wanda Boernson.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 in Calvary Cemetery by Pastor Terry Cain.
There is no visitation but friends are invited to the services. The Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
