
WANETA CLAUS
Mrs. Waneta Claus, 60, of Plainville, Illinois, died at 7:20 p.m. Saturday (March 5, 2005) at Blessing Hospital.
Born September 18, 1944 in Quincy, Illinois, Waneta was the daughter of Cyrus L. and Wilma E. Fusselman Wear.
Waneta was a member of the Ursa Christian Church and Alpha Chapter 109 Order of Eastern Star. She was a graduate of Seymour High School in Payson and attended John Wood Community College.
Waneta was employed as an L. P. N. at the Illinois Veterans Home for 24 years retiring in 2002. Following her retirement Waneta worked at Sunset Home until her health prevented her from caring for others.
Surviving is her daughter, Angela S. Huckstep and her husband Chris of Mendon; a son, William L. Claus Jr. of Loraine, IL.; two grandchildren, Gregory Lee Huckstep and Christy Lynn Huckstep both of Mendon; a brother, Cyrus Dean Wear and his wife Jeanne of Quincy; a sister, Dorothy Hardwick of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Claus was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy by the Rev. Linda Hunsaker. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Thursday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Ursa Christian Church, American Diabetes Association or the Blessing Cancer Center.
