RAYMOND W. "WHITEY" DECKER

Mr. Raymond W. "Whitey" Decker, 82, of 2131 Cherry Lane, died at 9:28 p.m. Thursday (December 15, 2005) in Blessing Hospital.

Born October 4, 1923 in Ownesville, Missouri, Whitey was the son of Raymond and Rebecca Kubits Decker. He married Antonie "Tonie" Auggenthaler Evertson on April 15, 1961 in Quincy. She survives.

Whitey enjoued duck hunting and fishing. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII seeing action at Arno and Rome, Italy receiving one Bronze Star.

Whitey was employed as a salesman and sales manager at Chevrolet in the truck division for 32 years in Quincy retiring in 1993.

Also surviving is his son, Raymond W. Decker Jr. and his wife Phyllis of Eldon, MO; one grandson, Gabriel Decker of Eldon, MO; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Mike and Carol McCabe and their children Myles and Matt of Quincy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; two sisters; three half brothers; and one half sister.

Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 1:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. Marlin Rempfer. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church or to Quincy Notre Dame High School.
