WILLIAM R. DeMOSS

Mr. William R. DeMoss, 78, of Quincy, died at 3:03 p.m. Friday (November 25, 2005) in his home.

Born September 11, 1927 in Quincy, Bill was the son of Dewey and Ethel Kealen DeMoss. He married N. Jean Sandifer on May 29, 1950 in Quincy. She died on April 13, 1979.

Mr. DeMoss served his country in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He was a member of AmVets and enjoyed reading. In his earlier years, he was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Mr. DeMoss worked in the Grocery Industry as a clerk for A&P Grocery, National, Kiefer's and Kroger's before his retirement from Eagle Grocery Store.

Surviving are two daughters, Ann Hillebrenner and her husband Bryant of Leesburg, FL. and Amanda DeMoss-Bacon and her husband Chad of Jacksonville, FL. two sons; David DeMoss and his wife Teresa Sue of Leesburg, FL. and Mark DeMoss of West Palm Beach, FL.; five grandchildren, Matthew Kuhlmeier, Ashley Kuhlmeier, Jennifer DeMoss, Katelyn Bacon and Kaden Bacon; and a cousin, David Kirner of Quincy.

Mr. DeMoss was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a sister, Betty DeMoss in infancy; an Aunt, Dorothy Kirner; and an Uncle, Al Kealen; and his companion Neva VanVelsor.

Graveside services with Military Honors by Quincy American Legion Post #37 will be held Friday morning at 11:00 in Greenmount Cemetery by the Rev. George Tomko.

Visitation will be Friday morning from 10:00 to 10:45 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
