
WILLIAM E. "Bill" LONG
Mr. William E. "Bill" Long, 82, of 320 South 11th St., died at 1:27 p.m. Saturday (July 1, 2006) in his home.
Born April 3, 1924 in Hannibal, Missouri, Bill was the son of George and Florence Wade Long. He married Phyllis Baker on July 15, 1967 in Quincy. She survives.
Mr. Long enjoyed attending flea markets and collecting various items. He also enjoyed working with leather making wallets and purses. Bill was a self employed auto mechanic for 36 years.
Also surviving is a daughter, Lisa Stapp and her husband David of Quincy; two sons, Kevin Long and Christopher Long, both of Quincy; and four grandchildren, Dylan and Kelsey Long and Amber and David A. Stapp, all of Quincy.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. . Burial with military honors by the Payson V.F.W. Post #2061 will be in Woodland Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 and Friday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
