WILLIAM B. "PAT" PATTERSON

Mr. William B. "Pat" Patterson, 85, of Sycamore Healthcare Centre, formerly of 1814 Melodie Ct., died at 7:45 p.m. Saturday (June 16, 2007) in the home.

Born March 16, 1922 in Hamilton, IL., Pat was the son of Charles F. and Rosa Buss Patterson. He married Jo Anna Stewart on June 10, 1951 in Quincy. She survives.

Mr. Patterson was a member of the First Christian Church. He attended schools in Hamilton and Quincy. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant from October 31, 1942 until January 30, 1946 seeing action in Hawaii and Japan.

Pat was employed as a truck driver for many years and retired January 1, 1980 as owner and operator of South Side Liquor Mart. After retirement Pat enjoyed gardening and selling his produce at the Farmers Market.

Also surviving are two sons, Stewart Patterson of Hazelwood, MO. and Jon Patterson of Channahon, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, George Richard Patterson; and two sisters, Charlet Sowers and Deloras Prante.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. Joby Brown. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 4:00 until 6:00 and Wednesday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Quincy Humane Society.
