WILMA M. UPPINGHOUSE

Mrs. Wilma M. Uppinghouse, 81, of Liberty, died at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday (April 29, 2008) in Sunset Home.

Born October 22, 1926 in Adams County, Illinois, Wilma was the daughter of Rueben Leo and Myrtle Olive Hughes Allensworth. She married Earl W. Uppinghouse on December 25, 1944 in Quincy. He preceded her in death on May 16, 1990.

Wilma managed the Airport Restaurant for 26 years until her retirement in 2004. She was devoted to her family and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include four sons, Gary Uppinghouse and his wife Linda of Columbia, MO., Michael Uppinghouse and his wife Tere of Quincy, Bradley "Skip" Uppinghouse of Liberty and Mick Uppinghouse and his wife Karen of Fowler; eleven grandchildren, Kimberly Ramsey and her husband Doug, Gretchen Roberts and her husband Larry, Brad Uppinghouse, Erica Schreacke and her husband Shawn, Abby Ryan and her husband Vince, Adam Uppinghouse, Dorinda Davis and her husband Brent, Celeste Mettemeyer and her husband Jason, Amy Uppinghouse, Jesse Uppinghouse and his wife Amber and Justin Uppinghouse and his wife Erin; fifteen great grandchildren; a brother, Kennard Allensworth and his wife Sandy of Liberty; two sisters, Darlene Brown and her husband Glen of Marblehead and June Darnell Bugg and her husband Martin of Alton, IL.; a brother in law, Gene Tournear of Quincy; a sister in law, Bobbie Allensworth of Quincy; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Uppinghouse was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl; a brother, Ray Allensworth; and a sister, Mildred Tournear.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Dorinda Davis and Pastor Dennis Thomas.

Visitation will be Friday afternoon from 12:00 Noon until the time of services at the funeral home.
