BERNICE ABBOTT
 

Mrs. Bernice Abbott, 79, of 800 S. 22nd St, died at 6:50 p.m. Tuesday
(July 20, 2004) at Blessing Hospital.

Born September 6, 1924, in Galesburg, Illinois, Bernice was the
daughter of Sam and Minnie Woermker Sloan. She married Kenneth Abbott in
June of 1943 in Kansas City, MO. He survives.

Bernice was a member of Grace Whipple Chapter Order of the Eastern Star
#312 and I.L.M.E. She loved her family profoundly and was always interested
in their vocations and avocations.

Surviving is her husband, Kenneth; her son, Kenneth Abbott and his wife
Leslie of Quincy; her daughter Pamela Rawlings of Palm Harbor, FL.; her
granddaughter, Christine Schnarr Chiarello of New Jersey; her grandsons,
Matt Abbott and Mark Abbott, both of Kansas City, MO., Luke Abbott of
Quincy, and J.R. Schnarr of St. Louis, MO.; and her great granddaughter,
Tess Chiarello of New Jersey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters, Dorothy
Sloan, Edna Neal, and Thelma Huseman.

Cremation rites were accorded to Mrs. Abbott. Memorial services will be
held at a later date. Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in
charge of the arrangements.

Those wishing to express their sympathy may make a donation in the name
of Bernice Abbott to the Diabetes Association or Blessing Hospital.
