Mrs. Mabel C. Abbott, 94, of 1600 Wilmar Orchard, died at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday (December 3, 2002) in Blessing Hospital. Born April 25, 1908 in Quincy, Mabel was the daughter of Albert and Anna Wilhelmena Koenig Quest. She married Charles G. Abbott on December 30, 1939 in St. Louis, MO. He died October 14, 1989. Mabel was a member of Luther Memorial Church and Grace Whipple Chapter #312 O.E.S., and a former member of the Navy Club Auxiliary. Her husband Charles G. Abbott and his brother Herbert C. Abbott started Abbott Supply Company in 1918, later becoming Abbott Automotive. Mabel was employed as the bookkeeper for many years until the business was sold in 1956. Surviving is a nephew, Bruce Charles Abbott of Saugus, CA.; five great nephews; one great niece; and three cousins, James and Audrey Koenig, Robert and Bernice Koenig, and Katherine Koenig, all of Quincy. Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Margaret Quest; and one nephew, L. Herbert Abbott. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. Leland Uden. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday morning from 9:00 until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the charity of the Donor's Choice. |
