| Mr. Warren William "Butch" Altgilbers, 60, of 1721 North 17th, died at 10:50 p.m. Sunday (July 14, 2002)
in his home. Born October 26, 1941 in Quincy. Butch was the son of Paul and Tiny Wheeler Altgilbers. He married Rhonda Jeanette Wilson on October 3, 1970 in Union Methodist Church in Quincy. She survives. Butch was a member of the Quincy Trogen's Drum and Bugle Corps from 1952 to 1957. He served in the 126 Illinois National Guard from 1963 to 1968 and served a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. Butch loved to camp and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, who affectionately named him, "The world's greatest piddler". Butch was employed by Merchant's Vending from 1962 to 1978 and then at Moorman Manufacturing from 1979 until his retirement on December 1, 2000. Also surviving are two sons, Bryan Altgilbers and Scott Altgilbers both of Quincy; three nieces, Debbie Straube of Quincy, Paulette Keith of Mendon and Holly Peters and her husband Vince of Mendon; a nephew, Dennis Altgilbers of Quincy; and five great nieces and five great nephews. Mr. Altgilbers was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; and three Uncles, Bill, Charles and Howard Wheeler. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Mr. Danny Murphy. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Saturday until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Children's College Fund or the Blessing Foundation for Hospice. |
