Ida Pearl Barry, 95, of Sunset Home, formerly of 1231 N. 4th, died at 9:15 a.m. Saturday (February 7, 2004) in the home. Born November 21, 1908 in Fishhook, Ida was the daughter of Thomas B. and Sarah E. Weaver Allen. She married Lester H. Barry in Kahoka, MO. on July 25, 1941. He died in 1974. Mrs. Barry was a member of the Fishhook Methodist Church. She was a Nurses Aid at St. Mary Hospital for over 10 years and retired as Head of the Progressive Care Unit. Surviving is one son, L. Don Barry of Quincy; five grandchildren, L. Don Barry Jr. of Quincy, Rene'e Goertz and her husband Rick and Monte Barry and his wife Tena, all of Ursa, Lori Cook and her husband Jamey of Elk City, OK. and Justin Dean Barry and his wife Mary Ann of Cody, WY.; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son Lyle Dean Barry; three sisters, Nellie Jane Diehl, Maggie Myree Hall, and Clara Dougherty; and six brothers, Alfred, Lewis, Harvey, Charles, William, and Clyde Allen. Graveside services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:00 at Woodland Cemetery in Fishhook by Rev. George Tomko. There is no visitation, but friends are invited to attend the graveside service. Memorials may be made to Sunset Home or the charity of the donor's choice. |
