Ms. Marian Ruth Beal, 70, of 1701 S. 30th, died at 5:14 p.m. Sunday (October 5, 2003) in Blessing Hospital.

Born October 3, 1933 in Kirksville, MO., Marian was the daughter of George Marion and Ruth Bailey Beal.

Marian received her Bachelor of Arts and Masters Degrees from Truman State University in Kirksville, MO. She had also attended the University of Hawaii. She was a 50 year member of the O.E.S. in Kahoka, MO., a 50 year member of the P.E.O., and a member of the Local, State, and National Retired Teachers Association. She was a world traveler traveling to every continent in the world except Antarctica.

She was a counselor at Quincy Senior High School for over 30 years and also a faculty advisor to the Quippi year book staff receiving many awards over the years. She retired in 1994.

Surviving is her brother, William F. Beal of Marion, IL.; two nieces, V. Lynne Crnkovich of Arlington, TX., and Laurie Ruth Lotz of Brunswick, GA.; one great nephew, Jason W. Lotz of Rockville, MD.; one great niece, Katie Crnkovich of Lawrence, KS.; and dear friends, Kenny and Pam Hultz of Quincy, and Terry and Lisa Clark and their children Daniel and Evan of Mayville, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a close companion William Reed.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. Roger Selves. Burial will be in LaBelle Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to The Ruth B. Beal Scholarship Fund at Truman State University.
