| Mr. David Bergstrasser, 55, of 1601 South 24th, died at 12:05 a.m. Friday (August 17, 2001) in the home of his
parents in Quincy. Born December 29, 1945 in Quincy, Dave was the son of Arnold and Marian Nelson Bergstrasser. Dave was a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church and was a member of the Elks Lodge #100. He was a 1964 graduate of Quincy High School and attended the University of Illinois and the IBM Computer Training School in St. Louis. Dave was also a Quincy Blue Devil fan and served on the Thanksgiving Tournament Committee for several years. He enjoyed golf, walking, and was an avid bowler, starting as a child and bowling in many different leagues in the area. He rolled three 300 games in his life. Dave worked in data processing for Electric Wheel, Gates Radio which later became Harris Corp. In 1975 he began with Knapheide Manufacturing and was currently the Manager of Information Technology. Dave also was a freelance consultant for several area companies. Surviving are his parents, Arnold and Marion Bergstrasser of Quincy; a son, Curtis Bergstrasser and his wife April of Wylie, TX.; two grandchildren, Evan Bergstrasser and Dana Bergstrasser both of Wylie, TX.; a brother, Dennis Bergstrasser and his wife Pamela of Louisville, KY.; a sister, Linda Fuller and her husband William of Portland, OR.; three nieces, Carrie Wheeler of Nashville, TN., Alder Fuller and McKenzie Fuller both of Portland, OR.; and a nephew, William "Austin" Fuller of Portland, OR. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 in Christ Lutheran Church by the Rev. Paul Schwartzkopf. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home and Sunday afternoon from 1:00 until the time of services at Christ Lutheran Church. Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church or the Kidney Cancer Association. |
