Mrs. Dorothy A. Bertholdt, 98, of St. Vincent's Home, formerly of 1601 S. 24th, died at 1:07 p.m. Tuesday (February 24, 2004) in the home. Born July 24, 1905 in Quincy, Dorothy was the daughter of John F. and Emma Marie Waack Heidloff. She married Rufus Edmisten in 1929 in St. Louis, MO. He died in 1956. She later married Clarence C. Bertholdt in 1962 in St. Louis, MO. He preceded her in death. Dorothy was employed as a bookkeeper in several St. Louis area businesses for many years. Surviving are two brothers, Wilbur Heidloff and his wife Elizabeth and Theodore Heidloff, both of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; and three sisters, Elizabeth Schroeder, Margaret Winkler, and Betty Flynn. Private family graveside services by Rev. Lelund Uden will be held in Greenmount Cemetery. There is no visitation. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. |
