Mrs. Rhoda Ellen Blacketer, 80, of 901 South 36th, died at 5:25 a.m. Friday (January 31, 2003) in Blessing Hospital. Born September 5, 1922 in Manchester, England, Mrs. Blacketer was the daughter of William and Rhoda Finney. She was married to Earl E. Blacketer. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Blacketer was of the protestant faith and an avid antique collector. Surviving is a son, Steve Blacketer and his wife Pam of Quincy; and a brother, William Finney of Manchester, England. Mrs. Blacketer was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband. Cremation rites were accorded Mrs. Blacketer. Memorial graveside services will be held Monday morning at 10:00 in Greenmount Cemetery by the Rev. George Tomko. There will be no visitation, but friends are invited to the services. Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Quincy Humane Society.
