Mrs. Lillian Barbara Borghorst, 83, of 1505 North 10th, died at 7:00 p.m. Saturday (August 24, 2002) in Blessing Hospital. Born December 13, 1918 in Quincy, Lillian was the daughter of Ralph H. and Mathilda Koch Terwelp. She married Arthur B. Borghorst on September 7, 1940 in Quincy. He died April 28, 1997. Lillian was a member of St. John the Baptist Church of All Saints Parish. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed the many trips she took with her children and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are two daughters, Mary Kay Ryan of Quincy and Diana Putnam of Hillsboro, IL.; a son, Daniel Borghorst and his wife Carol of Quincy; nine grandchildren, Bobbette Cookson and her husband Kyle, Judy Christner and her husband David and Jenny Mathes and her husband Jamie all of Quincy and Nicholas Putnam, Mike Putnam and his wife Kyle, Dan Putnam, Don Putnam and Dana Putnam all of Hillsboro and Tiffany Putnam of Tempe, AZ.; six great grandchildren, Shannon, Shaun and Shay Cookson, Dillon and Hannah Christner, and Jordan Mathes all of Quincy, and a great granddaughter due to arrive in September. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Art; and two brothers, Eugene and Russell Terwelp. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 9:30 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home and at 10:00 in St. John the Baptist Church of All Saints Parish by Rev. Robert Jallas. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 and Tuesday morning until the time of services at the funeral home. A Christian Wake Service will be held Monday evening at 4:00 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Blessing Hospital Cancer Center. |
