Mr. Lee W. Bowman, 80 , of 1001 Anne Ave., died at 10:49 a.m. Thursday (February 7, 2002) in Blessing Hospital.

Born March 14, 1921 in Marblehead, IL., Lee was the son of Charles Everett and Minnie Ethel York Bowman. He married Ruby Reeder on January 9, 1945 in Newport, Rhode Island. She survives.

Lee was a 1939 graduate of Quincy High School. He served his country in the U. S. Navy during WW II. He was also a member of the Quincy American Legion Post 37, Lambert Masonic Lodge No. 659, Scottish Rite of Quincy Consistory, Ansar Shrine Temple of Springfield, Quincy Shrine Club, Alpha Chapter No. 109 Order of Eastern Star, Miriam White Shrine of Jerusalem No. 3, and the Elks Lodge No. 100.

Mr. Bowman was employed by Burlington Northern Railroad for 38 years, retiring as Yard Master in 1980.

Also surviving is a daughter, Linda Goehl and her husband Michael of Riverton, IL.; a grandson, Justin Goehl of Riverton, IL.; two brothers, Richard Bowman and his wife Jean of Quincy and Charles "Harold" Bowman of El Paso, TX.; two sisters, Doris Costa and her husband John of San Lorenzo, CA. and Monsilete "Mona" Bowman and her husband Bud of Chicago, IL.; a brother in law, Leroy Reeder and his wife Wilma of Carrollton, IL.; four sisters in law, Irene Bowman of Chicago, IL., Marilyn Reeder of Davenport, IA., and Roxine Stranckmeyer and Sandra Reeder both of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Raymond and Lyndell Bowman; a sister, Juanita Bowman; his father and mother in law, Leroy and Hazel Reeder; two brothers in law, William Reeder and Edward Stranckmeyer; and two sisters in law, Hazel Bowman and Rosella Bowman.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Roger Selves. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Monday until the time of services at the funeral home. Lambert Masonic Lodge No. 659 will conduct services Sunday evening at 7:00 in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Blessing Dialysis Unit or the charity of the donor's choice.
