DONALD E. BOYER
Mr. Donald E. Boyer, 70, of 2131 Sunnybrook East, lost his battle with brain cancer at 6:18 p.m. Saturday (April 21, 2001) in his home.

Born August 21, 1930, Don was a son of Edward and Bessie Boyer. He married Maxine Kuch Boyer on January 25, 1952 in Piggott, Arkansas She survives.

Don will be remembered for his love of family and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, sports, and concerts. He eagerly took on new challenges and learned how to build or fix nearly everything. He will be remembered as always being there when he was needed.

He worked at ABC Corporation prior to its move from Quincy then he worked at Gardner-Denver for more then 35 years before his retirement in 1992. He enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels from 1992 to 2000.

Survivors include four sons, Steve Boyer and his wife Amphone, of East Moline, Illinois; Mick Boyer and his wife Judy, of LaGrange, Missouri; Dave Boyer and his wife Kathleen, of St. Louis, Missouri; and Scott Boyer and his wife Dawn, of Quincy; and their two daughters, Cathy Myers of Quincy and Karen Twaddle of Liberty; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Also surviving are two brothers, Ralph Boyer and his wife Mary, of Quincy, and Gerald Boyer of Quincy; two sisters, Dorothy Kerberick of West Point, and Frances Huffhines and her husband William, of Springfield, Missouri.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Robert.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 and Tuesday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
