Mrs. Cora A. Brackley, 96, of the Good Samaritan Home, formerly of 2016 Madison, died at 1:24 p.m. Tuesday (July
3, 2001) in Good Samaritan Home.
Born December 1, 1904 in Quincy, Cora was the daughter of William Henry and Gertrude Brown Roan. She married Earl
C. Brackley on October 13, 1924 in Quincy. He died February 28, 1978.
Cora was a member of Union United Methodist Church. She was employed as an LPN at the Illinois Veterans Home for
15 years until her retirement.
Surviving are four sisters, Hazel Sepick of Canton, IL., Virginia Longenecker of Panasoffkee, FL., Geraldine Buckner
of Campbell, CA. and Evelyn Pfaffe of Quincy; a daughter in law, Mary Brackley of Quincy; and several nieces and
nephews.
Cora was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son Benton E. Brackley; five brothers; and three sisters.
Graveside services will be held Friday morning at 11:00 in Greenmount Cemetery by the Rev. Robert Morwell.
