| Mrs. Vera Vernena "Nena" Bradley, 74, of Liberty, died at 2:36 p.m. Tuesday (May 21, 2002) in Memorial
Medical Center in Springfield, IL. Born April 25, 1928 in Meyer, IL., Nena was the daughter of George and Velma Paden Griggs. She married Virgil Lyle Bradley on March 5, 1949 in Quincy. He survives. Nena was a devoted mother and grandmother and was an avid reader. Also surviving is a daughter, Donna Horwedel and her husband Steve of Table Grove, IL.; two sons, Ron Bradley and his wife Sherri of Liberty and Carl Bradley and his fiance' Lori Howser of Quincy; eight grandchildren, Cassandra Schoonover of Ipava, IL., Kris Horwedel and Brittany Horwedel both of Table Grove, Anthony Edwards of Hillsdale, IL., Holly Edwards and Christopher Edwards both of Liberty, and Shawn Bradley and Michael Bradley both of Quincy; a great granddaughter, Danielle Schoonover of Ipava, IL.; two brothers, Franklin Griggs and his wife Barbara of Quincy and Lanny Griggs and his wife Karen of Liberty; two sisters, Joan Hess and her husband James and Connie Rathbun both of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bradley was preceded in death by her parents; four children in infancy; a brother, Lloyd Griggs; a niece ; and two great nieces. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Ronald Graham. Burial will be in New Providence Cemetery near Ursa. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Friday until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Responders of the Liberty Fire Department. |
