ROY EDMOND BRADLEY
 

Mr. Roy E. Bradley, 89, of 1509 Center Grandview, died at 2:00 a.m. Saturday (February 8, 2003) in his home.

Born November 28, 1913, in Denver, IL., Roy was the son of Paul and Goldie Grafton Bradley. He married Mary Jane Kinder in September of 1936. She died April 15, 1963. He later married Lorna Quandahl on November 15, 1975 in Quincy. She survives.

Roy farmed for several years in Adams County in the Camp Point and Clayton areas. In 1954, Roy moved his family to Liberty and was well known as the manager of an apple orchard. Mr. Bradley recently moved to Quincy after retiring from the apple business at the age of 80.

Also surviving is a son, Charles Roy Bradley and his wife Nola of Quincy; four daughters, Shirley Jean Warning and her husband Carl of Quincy, Carol Ann Goodwin and her husband Jerry of Liberty, Sharon Kay Read of St. Louis, and Debra Lynn Lenz of Liberty; a step daughter, Jean Rees and her husband David of Quincy; 17 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; 2 brother-in-laws, Ralph Eisenberg and Harold Hoskins; and 2 nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a wife; one granddaughter; a son-in-law, Ken Read; four sisters, Pauline Kinder, Hazel Eisenberg, Betty Hoskins, and Eleanor Bradley; and one brother Glenn Bradley.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. Rod Bakker. Burial will be in Xander Cemetery in Liberty.

Visitation will be held Monday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
