Mr. Elden L. Brickman, 91, of 1404 North 9th, died at 9:56 p.m. Monday (March 12, 2001) in Sycamore Health Care
Center.
Born August 13, 1909 in Lima, IL., Mr. Brickman was the son of Clarence and Blanche Andrew Brickman. He married
Esther Miller on March 1, 1930 in Quincy. She survives.
Mr. Brickman was a member of Grace United Methodist Church for over 55 years where he taught the Intermediate and
Homebuilders Sunday School Classes and was a Boy Scout Troop Leader for Troop 20 of Grace Methodist Church and
was an avid bowler.
Mr. Brickman was employed as a welder and mechanic for the Adams County Highway Department, International Harvester
and doing barge work on the river. He worked for Turner Brothers Garage for 31 years as a brake specialist, retiring
in 1973.
Also surviving is a son, Merlin Brickman and his wife Shirley of Quincy; two daughters, Janice Morton of Cantonment,
FL. and Betty Anderson and her husband Jack of Glendale, AZ.; a son in law, Donald Collins of Quincy; nine grandchildren,
Joe Brickman and his wife Debra of Quincy, Terry Brickman of Troy, MO., Scott Brickman and his wife Andera of Sterling,
IL., Vicky Brickman of Lexington, IL., Cheryl Hainline and her husband Nelson of Bowling Green, MO., Tate Anderson
and his wife Perla of Mesa, AZ., Trevor Anderson and his wife Patty of Belmont, N. C., Diana Lindbloom and her
husband Don of Richmond, VA., and Donna Saylor of Newport News, VA.; 18 great grandchildren; and several nieces
and nephews.
Mr. Brickman was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Judith Collins; and three brothers, Kenneth Brickman,
Gerald Brickman and Dewayne Brickman.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:30 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the
Rev. Franklin Silas. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday morning until the time of services at the
funeral home.
