Mrs. Freida Y. Campbell, 74,
of Payson, died at 6:45 a.m. Thursday
(September 30, 2004) in Blessing Hospital.
Born July 2, 1930 in Payson, Freida was the daughter of Merle and Lily
Seiz Uppinghouse. She married Kenneth R. Campbell on January 20, 1949
in
Payson. He survives.
Mrs. Campbell was a member of the Payson United Methodist Church. She
enjoyed planting flowers and loved watching the hummingbirds.
Mrs. Campbell was employed as a Lab Engineer at Harris Corporation for
42 years, retiring in 1987.
Survivors include four children, Steven L. Campbell and his wife
Barbara, Rick L. Campbell and Patty J. McKinney and her husband Bill all
of
Quincy and Danny R.Campbell of Payson; nine grandchildren; one great
granddaughter; two brothers, Bluford "Doc" Uppinghouse and his
wife Nadine
of Payson and Donald Uppinghouse and his wife Pauline of Plainville; three
sisters, Dorothy "Peck" Baugher of Payson, Alice Allensworth
of Quincy and
Shelby Shanks and her husband Leo of Plainville; and several nieces and
nephews.
Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers,
Delbert "Red" Uppinghouse, Lester Uppinghouse and Roy Uppinghouse.
Graveside services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 in the
Payson New Cemetery by the Rev. Ron Cox.
Visitation will be Saturday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the
Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Payson.
Memorials may be made to the Freida Campbell Memorial Fund.
