WALTER J. CAMPEN
 
Mr. Walter J. Campen, 81, of the Illinois Veterans Home, died at 4:03 a.m. Tuesday (May 28, 2002) in Blessing Hospital.

Born September 29, 1920 in Peoria, IL., Walter was the son of Walter George and Vivian Grace Dengel Campen.

Mr. Campen was of the Protestant faith. He served his country in the Army during W.W.II and the Korean Conflict He was a Prisoner of War and had received the Air Medal.

Walter retired from the Army Air Force and then was employed as a machinist at Caterpillar for over 30 years until his retirement in 1986.

Surviving is his brother, Lawrence E. Campen and his wife Pat of Anderson, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Memorial services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:00 at All Faiths Chapel at the Illinois Veterans Home by the Rev. James McCoy. Inurnment will be in Sunset Cemetery.
