Miss Lola Jean Carder, 80, of 608 N. 36th, died at 5:35 p.m. Friday (January 16, 2004) in her home. Born March 30, 1923 in Quincy, Jean was the daughter of Henry and Lola Frances Finley Carder. Jean was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and a graduate of Quincy Senior High School. She enjoyed league bowling, watching stock car racing, and Blue Devil Basketball. She was employed at Quincy Photo Supply for 15 years and then was a cashier at Adams School Lunch Program for over 17 years, retiring in 1993. Surviving are three cousins, Norma Jean Ackerman of Quincy, Don Miller of Gadsden, AL., and Nina Eisenberg of Maywood, MO.; and many close friends including Teresa Hesse and her husband William of Quincy. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Raymond McCubbin. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. Franklin Silas. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 10:00 until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church. |
