GERALDINE "JERRY" CARROLL
 

Mrs. Geraldine A. "Jerry" Carroll, 84, of 2425 Vermont, died at 2:50 p.m. Tuesday (August 19, 2003) in her home.

Born September 9, 1918 in Shelby County, Missouri, Mrs. Carroll was the daughter of Earl and Dora Dell Alexander Blackford.

Jerry was a member of Madison Park Christian Church where she was active with the Couples Class and the Sonshiner's. She enjoyed fishing and working in her flower garden and loved the Arts, supporting the Civic Music Association, Quincy Community Theatre, Quincy Symphony and the Quincy Museum.

A 1936 graduate of Shelbina High School and a 1940 graduate of the Blessing Hospital School of Nursing, Jerry began her nursing career working with Dr. Libmann and Dr. Schoengood and later with Dr. Germann and Dr. Sinnock. She then worked with Dr. James Rouner for 27 years at the P & S Clinic until her retirement.

Surviving are two daughters, Connie Carroll of Quincy and Karin Anderson Culbertson of Keokuk, IA.; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother, Weldon Blackford and his wife Kathryn of Shelbyville, MO.; two sisters, Elizabeth Madison of Quincy and Lois Tyner and her husband Claude of Shelbina, MO.; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Carroll was preceded in death by her parents; a niece and a nephew.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Bruce Willard. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Saturday from 11:30 until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Geraldine Carroll Memorial Fund.
