Mrs. Peggy K. Carroll, 81, formerly of 2406 Sterling Ave., died at 12:25
a.m. Tuesday (December 17, 2002) in St. Vincent's Home.
Born September 16, 1921 in St. Paul, Minnesota, Peggy was the daughter
of John and Martha Kane Clear. She married Owen E. Carroll Sr. on March
10, 1945 in Springfield, Illinois. He died on April 15, 1998.
Peggy was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and Cedar Crest Country
Club. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing cards.
Mrs. Carroll worked at B & D Youthful Shoe for 15 years.
Surviving are three sons, Owen Carroll Jr. and his wife Carol Jean and
Tim Carroll and his wife Karen both of Quincy and John Carroll of Chandler,
Arizona; two daughters, Donna Helmedag and her husband Ron of Plano,
Texas and Janie Helms and her husband Gene of Richardson, Texas; 12
grandchildren, Bobby Helmedag and his wife Kate of Denver, Colorado,
Stephanie Ann Helmedag of Plano, Texas, Jeremy Helms and Katie Helms
both of Richardson, Texas, Ted Carroll, Adam Carroll and Tricia Carroll
all of Chandler, Arizona, Cory Knorr and his fiance' Leanne Obert of
Taylor, Missouri, Stephanie Jo Knorr of Flagstaff, Arizona, and Jamie
Carroll, Patrick Carroll and Andria Carroll all of Quincy; and a sister,
Dorothy Zanardi and her husband Louis of Springfield, Illinois.
Mrs. Carroll was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 9:30 in Zehender Robinson
Stormer Cookson Funeral Home and at 10:00 in St. Peters Catholic Church
by the Rev. Roy Bauer. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday
until the time of services at the funeral home. A Christian Wake Service
will be held Friday evening at 6:30 in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
