ROSCOE CARROLL
 

Mr. Roscoe Carroll, 94, of Good Samaritan Home, formerly of 3421 Ellington Road., died at 5:18 a.m. Thursday (February 6, 2003) in Blessing Hospital.

Born December 1, 1908 in Louisiana, Missouri., Roscoe was the son of Llewlyn and Annabell Ogden Carroll. He married Virginia Lamb on September 15, 1933 in Quincy. She died October 22, 2002.

Mr. Carroll was a member of Ellington Memorial Presbyterian Church and the 40 year club at Moorman Manufacturing. He enjoyed woodworking, crafting much of his own furniture, antique guns and all forms of gardening, especially raising fruit and nut trees. Mr. Carroll served his country in the U. S. Army Air Corps during WWII.

A graduate of Louisiana High School and Gem City Business College. Mr. Carroll was employed in the banking industry in Alvord, Iowa and then as the Assistant Credit Manager at Moorman Manufacturing in Quincy for 43 years. He retired in 1973.

Surviving are two daughters; Sue Poarch and her husband Bob of Euless, TX., and Janet Swearingen and her husband Phillip of Pittsburgh, PA.; five grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and seven step great grandchildren.

Mr. Carroll was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; a brother, Henry Carroll; and a sister, Mary Lawrence Jacobs.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. Keith Delap. Burial will be in Buffalo Cemetery in Louisiana, Missouri.

Visitation will be held Saturday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Buffalo Cemetery Association.
