| Mrs. Virginia Carroll, 89, of 3421 Ellington Road, died at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday (October 22, 2002) in Blessing Hospital. Born March 21, 1913 in Quincy, Virginia was the daughter of Robert and Clara Kosyan Lamb. She married Roscoe Carroll on September 15, 1933 in Salem Church in Quincy. He survives. Virginia was a member of Ellington Memorial Presbyterian Church and a member and Past President of the Blessing Women's Auxiliary. She was an accomplished pianist and taught piano in her home for many years and music for several years at Franklin rural school. Virginia enjoyed reading and growing African Violets. A graduate of Gem City Business College, Virginia was employed at Moorman Manufacturing before her marriage. She then devoted her time to her family. Also surviving are two daughters, Virginia Sue Poarch and her husband Robert of Euless, TX and Janet Swearingen and her husband Phillip of Pittsburgh, PA.; five grandchildren, Sean Clowe of Arlington, TX., Douglas Clowe of Bonn, Germany, Malinda Clowe of Indiana, PA., Greg Swearingen of Portland, OR. and Stephanie Swearingen of Akron, OH; four step grandchildren, Deborah Penny and her husband Steve of Valencia, CA., Leanne Struck and her husband Steve of Dallas, TX., Deanne Colley and her husband Rodney of Trophy Club, TX. and Denise Mistrot and her husband Jerry of Corinth, TX.; seven step grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Wooldridge and her husband Jim of Quincy and Edna Yaap and her husband Carl of Industry, IL.; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Carroll was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Rod Baker. Burial will be in the Buffalo Cemetery near Louisiana, MO. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday until the time of services at the funeral home.
