DORIS I. CHANEY
 

Mrs. Doris Imogene Chaney, 79, of the Lakewood Care Center in Kansas
City, MO., formerly of Quincy, died at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday (October 5, 2004)
at the home.

Born September 1, 1925 in El Dara, IL., Doris was the daughter of Ray
and Ethel Wade Tittsworth. She married Arch Leonard Chaney on August 6, 1943
in North Augusta, SC. He died November 19, 1987.

Doris had many hobbies including crocheting, cooking, reading, doing
memory books and going to movies. She enjoyed staying in touch with her many
friends and especially cherished the time she spent with her children,
grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She and her husband managed the Copper Kettle Restaurant in Adair, IA.
for many years until his death in 1987.

Surviving are two daughters, Cheryl Jones of Lee's Summit, MO and Gwynn
Peters and her husband Denny of Bellevue, NE.; two sons, Mark Chaney and his
wife Valerie of Olathe, KS. and Michael Chaney and his wife Vicky of
Wichita, KS; a son in law, Joe Dale Jones of Springfield, MO.; eleven
grandchildren, Kelly Chapman and her husband Phillip of Lee's Summit, MO.,
Heather Chaney and Alexander Padron of Overland Park, KS., Aubrey Chaney of
Olathe, KS., Greg Chaney of Garrett, IN., David Chaney of Wichita, KS.,
Emily Goggin and her husband Phillip of Garrett, IN., Kevin Jones and his
wife Christina of Hinsdale, IL., Bobby Mizener and his wife Jennifer of
Bellevue, NE., Michael Mizener of Omaha, NE., Doris Smith and her husband
Jason of Gallatin, MO., and Robin; two step grandchildren, Serenity and Ali
of Wichita, KS.; two sisters, Illa Mae Inman and her husband Whitey of
Barry, and Mary Ilene Royalty of Clayton; one sister in law, Shirley
Tittsworth of Barry; and several nieces and nephews who will greatly miss
her and all those that loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother,
Ladell Tittsworth, and her brother in law, Tom Royalty.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 at the Zehender
Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. George Tomko. Burial will be
in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 and
Saturday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
