RAYMOND E. CHAPMAN
Raymond E. Chapman, 65, of 1220 St. Charles Dr., died at 12:05 a.m. Thursday (June 21, 2001) in his home.

Born February 26, 1936 in Versailles, IL., Mr. Chapman was the son of Johnny H. and Lillian R. Jones Chapman. He married Betty Wells on May 9, 1954 in Brown County, IL. She survives.

Mr. Chapman was of the Baptist Faith. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He enjoyed racing and watching the races at Quincy Raceways, mushroom hunting, trap shooting and hunting.

Raymond worked for International Shoe Factory for 10 years and later for Master Tank. He was employed at Electric Wheel, a division of Firestone for 20 years until his retirement in 1983.

Also surviving is a son, Rick Chapman and his wife Gina of Quincy; three daughters, Regina Hudson and Rita Broemmer and her husband Michael all of Quincy and Rhonda Chapman of Ursa; 10 grandchildren, Shane Hudson, Chastity Gire and her husband Jeff, Damon Hudson and his wife Erin, Amber Hudson, Alexis Randolph, Jamy Landwehr and her husband Chris, Brandy Hickerson and her husband Brent, Andrew Chapman and Katie Chapman all of Quincy and Raelyn Lightfoot of Ursa; seven great grandchildren; five sisters, Juanita Patton of California, Wilma McWane of Quincy, Veda Thornton of Hanna City, IL., Virginia Trogdon of Oconee, IL. and Sandra Allen of Jacksonville, IL.; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Chapman was preceded in death by his parents; a son in infancy; two brothers, John Chapman and a brother in infancy; and four sisters, Regina Chapman, Phyllis Rowsey, Ada Rowsey and Wanda Bohan.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Roger Selves and Rev. Russell Hess. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday until the time of services at the funeral home.
