| Mrs. Ruth Kimmey Cookson, 97, of Buffalo Gap, S.D., died at 8:16 a.m. Wednesday (August 29, 2001) in the Pioneer
Care Center in Brigham City, UT. Born August 8, 1904 in Kahoka, MO., Mrs. Cookson was the daughter of Samuel P.P. and Nora Izora Crow Pollock. She married John D. Kimmey who preceded her in death. She later married Andrew Jackson Cookson on June 23, 1934 in Memphis, MO. He also preceded her in death. Mrs. Cookson was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and quilting. Surviving are two sons; Roland C. Kimmey and his wife Marie of Buffalo Gap, S.D., and Ernest Samuel Kimmey and his wife Leona of Oklahoma City, OK; two grandchildren, Linda Snow of Hyrum, UT., and C. Gene Kimmey and his wife Jerry of Warden, WA.; twelve great grandchildren; eleven great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Cookson was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; five sisters; one daughter; and one grandchild. Graveside services will be held Saturday morning at 11:30 at the Kahoka City Cemetery in Kahoka, MO. by the Rev. Kenneth Beckmann. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 9:00 until 10:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home, 1435 State St.., in Quincy, IL. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. |
