Mr. Ralph R. Cooper, 79, of rural Ursa died at 11:50 p.m. Wednesday (November 14, 2001) in Blessing Hospital.

Born March 18, 1922 in Kingston, Ralph was the son of Alexander Clarence and Bessie Fuller Cooper. He married Viola Darnell on May 6, 1943 in Quincy.

Mr. Cooper enjoyed hunting and fishing and served his country in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He was employed as a machinist at the Morris Chain Company in Keokuk, IA. for many years until his retirement.

Surviving are two daughters, Betty Moore and her husband Phillip of Burlington, IA. and Bertha Brem and her husband Steven of Ankeny, IA.; three sons, William Cooper and his wife Linna of Wayland, MO., Floyd Cooper and his wife Barbara of Stronghurst, IL., and Russell Cooper and his wife Laura of Ursa; seventeen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one brother, Vernon Cooper; five sisters, Anna Mae Kurtz, Catherine Hankins, Pansy Brewer, Bertha Jarvill, and Iola Cooper; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Dorothy Howell of Barry, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son Ralph; four brothers, one sister, and three grandsons.

Memorial graveside services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 in the Payson Old Cemetery. .

Visitation will be held Saturday afternoon from 1:00 until 1:45 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Payson.

Memorials may be made to the Ralph Cooper memorial fund.
