| Mr. Harry J. Dedert, 81, of 5135 Baseline Road, died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday (August 14, 2001) in his home. Born June 7, 1920 in rural Quincy, Harry was the son of Charles W. and Nettie E. Adams Dedert. He married Marguerite Zimmerman on March 28, 1948 in Quincy. She died on November 23, 1954. Harry was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ and the Adams County Farm Bureau. Mr. Dedert farmed all of his life on the family farm in Ellington and Mendon Townships. Surviving is a daughter, Ruth Ann Hufendick and her husband Larry of Hamilton; two grandsons, Shawn Hufendick of Quincy and Lee Hufendick of Hamilton; a brother in law, Elmer "Bud" Krutmeier of Coatsburg; three nephews, Jim Krutmeier of Camp Point, Randy Krutmeier and his wife Jan of Fowler and Kevin Krutmeier and his wife Suzie of Coatsburg; and a niece, Tammy Newton and her husband Mike of Quincy. Mr. Dedert was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a sister Dorothy Krutmeier. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:30 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Stephen Schuette. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and Friday until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Salem Church. |
