Mrs. Wilma M. Dobbs, 88, of 4416 Gardner Expressway, died at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday (November 12, 2003) in Blessing Hospital. Born February 11, 1915 in Fall Creek Township, Wilma was the daughter of George and Christina Bluemler Keil. She married Boyce T. Dobbs on February 27, 1944 in Ashland, Oregon. He died on August 8, 2002. Wilma was a member of Bluff Hall United Church of Christ and the Adams County Farm Bureau. She was an avid bowler, bowling in the Tuesday night league at Casino Lanes. She won many awards and tournament honors over the years. During WW II, Wilma worked at Douglas Aircraft Corp. in California before returning to her farm south of Quincy, where she continued farming for over 60 years. Survivors include three sons, Tom Dobbs and of Liberty, Ted Dobbs and his wife Sue of Quincy and Robert Dobbs and his wife Melvia of Chesterfield, MO.; three grandchildren, Chad Dobbs and his wife Jenny of Bellview, WA., and Kim Dobbs and Kyle Dobbs both of Quincy; a great grandson, Nick Dobbs of Bellview, WA.; a sister, Elizabeth Hanley of Mendon; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Dobbs was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, George Keil; and a son in infancy. Graveside services will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 in Quincy Memorial Park by the Rev. Rick Welch. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 9:00 until 10:15 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army. |
