DONALD A. DONHARDT
Mr. Donald A. Donhardt, 74, of 1317 Gayla Drive, died at 11:10 a.m. Thursday (April 26, 2001) in his home.

Born November 30, 1926, Don was a son of Bernard L. and Teresa Berblinger Donhardt. He married Eva Ballard on May 23, 1953 in Quincy. She survives.

Don was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where he served on the Stewardship Finance Board and as a Trustee and was active with Boy Scout Troop 20 at the church. He was a member of the Gardner Denver Quarter Century Club, Quincy American Legion Post #37 and the Coclear Implant Association Inc. Don was also an avid square dancer and enjoyed camping. He served his country in the U. S. Army during WW II in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre.

Don was employed as a machinist for Gardner Denver Company for 40 years, retiring in 1989.

Also surviving is a son, Jerry Donhardt of Quincy; two daughters, Kathy Hyer and her husband Gary and Donna Schurfeld and her husband Larry both of Quincy; three grandchildren, Lee Hyer, Chip Schurfeld and Jenny Schurfeld all of Quincy; two brothers, Ben Donhardt and his wife Irene of Normal, IL. and Edward Donhardt and his wife Mildred of Quincy; a brother in law, Roy Meyer of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Donhardt was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lucille Meyer; and a brother, Harold Donhardt.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:30 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Franklin Silas. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Monday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice or Grace United Methodist Church.
