Mr. Charles L. Doss, 66, of 1634 Aspen Dr., died at 10:45 p.m. Friday (June 6, 2003) in his home. Born July 29, 1936 in Bosworth, MO., Charles was the son of Charles Phillip and Hazel Olive Parker Doss. He married Florence Loeb on August 6, 1969 in Overland Park, KS. She survives. Mr. Doss was a member of the National Rifle Association, and a past member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. Charlie loved to fish and hunt deer. He also enjoyed gardening and doing things for others. He served his country in the Air Force as a hydraulic specialist from 1956 until 1960 during which he did a tour of duty in England. Charlie drove a bus for Continental Trailways for ten years. He was then a truck driver for McNay Trucklines for 25 years retiring in 2003. Also surviving is a step daughter, Terry Ellen Rex and her husband Scott of Milwaukee, WI.; two daughters, Terri and Lori of Kansas; one son, Duane of Kansas; one grandchild, Nicolas Rex of Milwaukee, WI.; four brothers, Wes Doss of Broken Arrow, OK., Lewis Doss, and Bob Doss and his wife Kay, both of Bozworth, MO., and Marvin Doss and his wife Brenda of Columbia, MO.; four sisters, Barbara Loudermilk and her husband Bob of Monkey Island, OK., Phyllis Bruce and her husband Jim of Bosworth, MO., Joyce Moore of Sweet Springs, MO., and Voncelle Helmig and her husband Gene of Columbus Junction, IA.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Kay LaFever; and a brother-in-law, Art LaFever. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. Roger Grimmet. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 and Tuesday morning until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Blessing Hospice. |
