RICHARD "DICK" DRAKE
 
Mr. Richard "Dick" Drake, 62 , of 1029 Jackson, died at 11:05 a.m. Monday (January 14, 2002) in Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Born June 5, 1939 in Plymouth, Dick was the son of Floyd E. and Doris C. Douglas Drake. He married Helen Lucille "Lucy" Volk on July 22, 1961 in Mt. Sterling, IL. She survives.

Dick was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Quincy where he was active with the Holy Name Society and served as an usher. He was a 1957 graduate of Plymouth High School and a graduate of Quincy Technical School. An avid deer hunter and fisherman, he also enjoyed mushroom hunting and camping. Dick was also a member of the Mississippi Valley Hunter's and Fishermen's Association, Mississippi Valley Bee Keepers Association, the Wenois Archery Club where he served on the Board of Directors, and the Refrigerator Service Engineers Society.

Dick was employed by Selby Implement Company from 1964 to 1966. He has been employed since 1966 as a vendor service technician at Refreshment Services Pepsi.

Also surviving are three daughters, Karla Clayton and her husband Gary of Versailles, IL., Kim Drake of Quincy and Kristine Kilpatrick and her husband Lon of Downers Grove, IL.; two grandchildren, Aaron and Matthew Clayton both of Versailles; two brothers, Dan Drake and his wife Marilyn of McHenry, IL. and Doran Drake of Plymouth; four sisters, Donna Drake of Quincy, Darla Whitford and her husband Larry of Plymouth, Debbie Henry of Port Royal, S. C., and Denita "Jet" Drake of Winnetka, IL.; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Drake was preceded in death by his parents.

Prayer services will be held Friday morning at 10:30 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Tom Henseler. Graveside services will be Friday morning at 11:45 in the Morrellville Cemetery near Perry, IL.

Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday morning until the time of the prayer service at the funeral home. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 4:30 Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Hope Lodge of St. Louis, MO.
