DEAN DYE
Mr. Dean Dye, 76, of 1715 North 24th, died at 7:54 p.m. Thursday (August 30, 2001) in DePaul Hospital in St. Louis.

Born March 1, 1925 near Memphis, MO., Dean was the son of Albert and Addie Dunn Dye. He moved with his family to Lewistown, Mo. in 1936.

He married Helen Orth on December 7, 1947 in Hannibal, MO. She survives

Dean was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Ewing, MO. as a youth and was active in Calvary Baptist Church since living in Quincy, serving as a past president of the Kings Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the 50 year Graduates Club of Lewistown High School. Dean served in the U. S. Army during WW II stationed in France, Germany and Japan. He was a member of the Quincy American Legion Post #37.

Dean was employed for General Foods Corporation before moving to Quincy in 1949. He opened D & H Restaurant Service in October, 1950. He retired in 1979.

Also surviving is a son, Robert Dye and his wife Joan of Wheaton, IL.; two daughters, Dr. Rebecca L. Dye of Quincy and Carol Dye-Keller and her husband Kurt of Owensville, MO.; seven grandchildren, Heather Dye-Timm and her husband Chad of Minneapolis, MN., Karin Dye and Nathan Dye both of Wheaton, IL., and Jennifer Keller, John Keller, Janna Keller and Jarret Keller all of Owensville, MO.; a sister, Arlene Veatch of Monroe City, MO. and three nieces and two nephews.

Mr. Dye was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. L. D. Grant. Burial will be in Lewistown Cemetery in Lewistown, MO.

Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and Monday until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church or the Lewistown Cemetery Association.
