Mr. Clarence B. Emerick Jr.,
71, of 1617 Jefferson, died at 1:30 a.m.
Friday (October 22, 2004) at the Illinois Veterans Home.
Born February 26, 1933 in Quincy, IL., Clarence was the son of Clarence
and Edith Brinkman Emerick Sr. He married Patsy E. Grove of Augusta,
Illinois on July 3, 1954 in St. Louis, MO. They celebrated their Golden
Wedding Anniversary this past July.
Clarence was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. While living in
St. Louis he was the president of the St. Vincent Depaul Society At
Presentation Church for several years. He also taught beginning computer
classes to senior citizens at the St. Louis Computer Club. He served his
country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Emerick was a technical electronics maintenance field engineer for
GE's medical division in St. Louis for many years until his retirement
in
1993.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy; four sons, Michael Emerick and and
his wife Cheryl of Cincinnati, OH., Stephen Emerick of Wichita Falls,
TX.,
David Emerick and his wife Brenda of Valparaiso, FL., and Daniel Emerick
of
St. Clair, MO.; seven grandchildren, Christopher Emerick and his wife
Trisha
and Crystal Emerick, all of Garden City, FL., Max Hall of Cincinnati,
OH.,
Kelly Brooks and her husband Brian of Warner Robins, GA., Anthony Emerick
and Timothy Emerick, both of Valparaiso, FL., and Jacob Emerick Andrews
of
Hazelwood, MO.; five great grandchildren, Sean Riley and Justice Emerick,
both of Garden City, GA., Allison Brooks and Ashleigh Brooks, both of
Warner
Robins, GA., and Brandon Emerick of Santa Rosa, FL.; two brothers, Mark
Emerick and his wife Jean of Chicago, and Clark Emerick and his wife Grace
of Bothell, WA.; one sister, Mary Menkhaus of Dickinson, TX.; and one
brother in law, Aaron Wardlow and his wife Patricia of Quincy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Shirley Ann
Wardlow; and one nephew, Victor Menkhaus.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. at St.
Mary's Catholic Church by Monsignor Michael Kuse. Burial will be in Sunset
Cemetery at the Illinois Veterans Home.
Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of
