| Mrs. Marie Fielding, 82, of the Good Samaritan Home, formerly of 13 Ray Mar, died at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday (October 16, 2002) in Good Samaritan Home. Born February 19, 1920 in Paris, Missouri, Marie was the daughter of Ray and Jennie Dowell Shortridge Sr. She married Francis E. Fielding on July 20, 1942 in Palmyra, Missouri. He died on August 18, 1993. Marie was a devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed the time she spent with her family. Surviving is a son, Michael Fielding and his wife Connie of Quincy; two daughters, Linda Davis and her husband Walter of Ewing, Missouri and Kathy Hankins of Quincy; four grandchildren, Jason Davis of LaGrange, Missouri, Holly Murphy and her husband Bill of Ewing, Missouri, and Torrey Fielding and Dakota Fielding both of Quincy; four great grandchildren, Christian Davis and Cameron Davis both of LaGrange, Missouri and Josh Murphy and Hana Murphy both of Ewing, Missouri; a brother, Ray Shortridge and his wife Marge of Quincy; three sisters, Thelma Crouch and her husband Sam of Maywood, Missouri, Maybell "Chick" Selby of Ewing, Missouri and Betty Geisendorfer of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Fielding was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son in law, Gary Hankins; and a sister, Nellie Brinkman. Graveside memorial services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 in Greenmount Cemetery by the Rev. Rick Welch. There will be no visitation, but friends are invited to the services. Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice. |
