Mr. Robert E. "Bob" Foster, 81, of 2634 South 12th died at 8:35 a.m. Friday (July 11, 2003) in Blessing Hospital.

Born August 11, 1921 in Keokuk, Iowa, Bob was the son of Rev Robert A. and Ruth Lanphere Foster. He married Doris M. Hussong on October 6, 1957 in Trinity United Church of Christ. She survives

Bob was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ. He was a 1939 graduate of Keokuk Iowa High School and attended Culver Stockton College of which he was a lifetime member of the Letterman's Club. He was a member of the Quincy American Legion Post #37, V. F. W,, Elks Lodge #100, South Side Boat Club, Great River Jazz Society, Herman Masonic Lodge # 39, Quincy Consistory, Ansar Shrine Temple of Springfield, Quincy Shrine Club and a Charter Member of the Belgian Hitch Shrine Club. Mr Foster served his country in the U. S. Army Air Corp during WWII.

Bob began his career in 1946 with Prairie Farms Dairy as a route supervisor. He later became sales manager and retired in 1994 as the Western Division Manager of Prairie Farms Dairy. After his retirement he continued to serve as a consultant for Prairie Farms.

Surviving is a son John Foster of Quincy; a daughter Carolyn Peter and her husband Ross of Quincy; three grandchildren Joshua John Foster of Tampa, Florida, Cory Peter and his wife Elizabeth of Chicago, Illinois and Erin Lewke and her husband Bo of New York City, New York.

Mr. Foster was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation rites were accorded to Mr. Foster. Memorial Graveside services will be held Tuesday Morning at 10:30 in Greenmount Cemetery by Rev. Tim White. There is no visitation but friends are invited to attend the graveside service. Quincy American Legion Post # 37 will conduct Military Services at the cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ or Shriners Children's Hospital.
