Mrs. Maxine M. Frazier, 89, of the Sunset Home, formerly of 601 Garden Court, died at 9:25 a.m. Friday (July 11, 2003) in Sunset Home. Born May 4, 1914 in Columbia, Missouri, Mrs. Frazier was the daughter of Harold E. and Emma Stretz Gray. She married Fred F. Frazier on March 14, 1936 in New London, Missouri. He died July 23, 1974. Mrs. Frazier was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ, Elks Lodge No. 100 and worked as a volunteer in the Blessing Hospital Tea Room and Good Samaritan Home. She loved to cook and will be fondly remembered for the sound of her voice by everyone who knew her. Mrs. Frazier worked at the lunch counter at S.S. Kresge's before becoming the 1st employee of Kirlin's Inc., where she worked for 35 years until her retirement. Surviving is a sister, Harriett B. Palmer of North Liberty, IA.; and several nieces and nephews including, Jackie Metzger and her husband Greg of North Liberty, IA., Terry Palmer and his wife Sherilyn of Austin, TX., Jim Gray and his wife Carolyn of Normal, IL., Billy Gray and his wife Johnalee of Memphis, TN. and David Gray of Indiana; and several great nieces and great nephews. Mrs. Frazier was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Edgar Gray. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Thursday until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. |
