| Mrs. Lillian L. Frye, 78, of Payson, died at 3:48 p.m. Saturday (June 22, 2002) in Blessing Hospital. Born August 27, 1923 in Adams County, Illinois, Lillian was the daughter of Charles and Onieda Hampton Harris. She married Ralph J. Frye on April 4, 1944 in Lebanon, PA. He preceded her in death on March 1, 1998. Lillian was a graduate of Payson Seymour High School and attended three years of nursing school prior to her marriage. She was a member of the Payson Congregational United Church of Christ and was an Election Judge in the Payson Precinct and Treasurer of the Payson New Cemetery Association. Lillian was a founding member of the Northeast Missouri Genealogical Society and Great River Genealogical Society where she was honored with the Lifetime Member Award, and was a member of the Coles County Genealogical Society. Lillian was employed as a postal clerk for the Payson Post Office for 17 years until her retirement. Surviving are three daughters, Jo Ann Griffin and her husband John of Payson, Diann Schieferdecker and her husband Terry of Quincy and Dr. Susan Dietrich and her husband Steve of Ocala, FL; a son, Ralph Jay Frye and his wife Linda of Payson; four grandchildren, Laura Liang and her husband Mark of Houston, TX, Troy Schieferdecker and his wife Tammy and Suzanne Schieferdecker all of Quincy, and Sarah Griffin and her fiance' Scott Rogers of Payson; six great grandchildren, Aaron Griffin of Payson, Jordan, Jennifer, Jackson and Jami Liang all of Houston, TX and Tori Schieferdecker of Quincy; a brother, Charles Harris and his wife Juanita of Overland, MO; a sister, Imogene Richwalski and her husband Edward of Oklahoma City, OK; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Frye was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two sisters, one in infancy and Lucille Jarvis. Graveside services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 in Payson New Cemetery by the Rev. Ron Cox. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 10:00 to 10:45 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Payson. Memorials may be made to the Payson New Cemetery Association. |
