Mrs. Magdalena M. "Madge" Gay, 88, of Good Samaritan Home, formerly of RR 4, Quincy, died at 3:40 a.m. Saturday (January 26, 2002) in Good Samaritan Home.

Born May 30, 1913 in Belleville, IL. Mrs. Gay was the daughter of Peter P. and Opal Arnett Waigand. She married George F. Gay on January 29, 1932 in Pittsfield, IL. He died February 14, 1998.

Madge was employed by the Quincy Shoe Factory and later for Davis Cleaver for many years until her retirement.

Surviving are two sons, John P. Gay and Carson Gay and his wife Mary both of Quincy; five grandchildren, Carson J. Gay and his wife Judy, Tina Mutz, Angela Von Holt, Lori Sanchez and Shelly Medsker and her husband Kenny all of Quincy; eight great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Gay was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Caroline Wells.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Monday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Tuesday until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
