ROBERT LEE GIBSON
 

Mr. Robert Lee Gibson, of 2335 St. Charles Drive, died at 5:00 p.m.
Monday (June 14, 2004) in the emergency room of Blessing Hospital.

Born August 16, 1928 in Quincy, Mr. Gibson was the son of Clark and
Edith Moore Gibson. He married Betty Mason on July 3, 1948 in Quincy. She
survives.

Bob served in the Illinois National Guard and was a volunteer for Meals
on Wheels for many years. He was instrumental in organizing the Neighborhood
Watch program for the city of Quincy.

Bob was employed as a machinist and tow operator for Gardner Denver
Company for 38 years until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; two daughters, Brenda Frericks and
her husband Gerald and Sandra Fenn and her husband Scott, both of Quincy; a
son, Robert Kent Gibson of Quincy; four grandchildren, Pam Frericks of Cape
Girardeau, MO., and Cory Frericks, Katie Fenn and Andrew Ruebbelke all of
Quincy; a sister, Corrine Hibbert and her husband Kenny of Gladstone, MO.;
and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Gibson was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Scott E.
Fenn Jr., and a brother, Dick Gibson.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 in the
Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. George Tomko.
Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 and Thursday
until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
