Mr. Charles Edward "Dick" Goodwin, 79, of Hull, died at 4:01 p.m. Thursday (April 3, 2003) in his home. Born April 1, 1924 in Marblehead, Dick was the son of James A. and Jane DeMoine Goodwin. He was married to Dorla Peters and later to Emily Meadows. Dick was of the protestant faith. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Quincy and Hutchison, Kansas since 1940. Dick enjoyed bowling and playing and calling Bingo and stock car racing. Mr. Goodwin moved to California in 1952 where he was employed by the McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Corporation in Torrance until his retirement in 1974. Following his retirement, he moved to Hutchison, Kansas until 1998 when he moved to Hull. He currently was employed as a paper carrier for the Quincy Herald Whig. Surviving is a daughter, Heather Clokey and her husband Robert of Inglewood, CA.; a son, Chris Goodwin of Aurora, CO.; four grandchildren, Rob Clokey and his wife Shellie of Stayton, OR., Kimberly Clokey of Inglewood, CA., Jennifer Thomas and her husband Mike and Ryan Goodwin both of Aurora, CO.; six great grandchildren, Michelle Thomas of Aurora, CO., Jillian Woodsmall and Kaitlyn Woodsmall both of Hawthorne, CA., Alex Clokey, Camryn Clokey and Kendahl Clokey all of Stayton, OR.; two sisters, Evelena Anders of Hull and Moleta Echternkamp of Quincy; two sisters in law, Maxine Goodwin and Mae Goodwin both of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Goodwin was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary Crenshaw and Laura Bacon; and four brothers, Fred, Harvey, George and Irven Goodwin. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Tom Waters. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 and Saturday until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice. |
